Dental Implants:
A Solution to Replace Missing Teeth

A dental implant designed to replace a single tooth is composed of three parts: the titanium implant that fuses with the jawbone; the abutment, which fits over the portion of the implant that protrudes from the gum line; and the crown, which is created by Dr. Meyer and fitted onto the abutment for a natural appearance.

A permanent tooth can be lost from an accident, gum disease, or tooth decay. Today, 69% of adults ages 35 to 44 have lost at least one tooth. In addition to that, 26% of adults have lost all their teeth by age 74. Missing teeth can affect your ability to eat, speak clearly and smile.

Today there are options for patients who are missing permanent teeth. Dental implants are long-term replacements that Dr. Meyer surgically places in the jawbone. They serve as the roots of missing teeth. Implants are composed of titanium metal that "fuses" with the jawbone and they never decay like natural teeth.
